An intern learns the ropes at a Termination Experts’ coding company. A year later, he’s running his own scam – until Dutch authorities shut it down.
Let’s unpack…
What is CVneed.com?
CVneed.com presented itself as a online tool to create a CV. However…
‘ACM received hundreds of complaints about Cvneed. Consumers complained in particular that it was not clear that they, when creating a cv, were stuck with a subscription of 35 euros per month.’

Sounds familiar? It should.
Who Owns CVNeed.com?
Here’s where things get interesting. The site was operated by ‘entrepreneur’ Nathaniël Sijmen de Waal (’04), who owned Cvneed B.V. through his shell company NS Holding B.V.

But Nathaniël wasn’t alone. The certificate of incorporation (above) shows that someone backed the venture financially: Milky Way Investments B.V. And who’s behind Milky Way?
A trio of familiar names:
- Florian Holding B.V – > Yves Deen (’99)
- Jesse Verduijn B.V. -> Jesse Verduijn (’98)
- W.M. Paalman Holding B.V -> Wouter Paalman (’93)
Known from their most infamous website: TerminationExperts.com.
All of this is public information, which you can find on the Dutch Company House website: https://www.kvk.nl/. Useful info can be found in the annual accounts (Dutch: Jaarrekeningen) and the certificate of incorporation (Dutch: Akte van oprichting).
Where Did He Learn the Trade?
Nathaniël didn’t just stumble onto this business model. He started as an intern at Hét Codeerbedrijf (‘The Coding Company’, now called Lemon Labs B.V.) owned by? You guessed it.

So to sum up, Nathaniël, ‘founder’ of CVneed.com, was both financed and trained by the same people who run TerminationExperts.com
Gentlemen, we have come full circle.
Action by Dutch Authorities
Thankfully, this story has an happy end. After hundreds of consumer complaints, ACM forced cvneed.com to halt new sign-ups and stop misleading practices. According to their statement, the site has ceased trading entirely.

Well done! Although there is still some work to be done… hint, hint
Honestly, I could not make this up.
Up next: follow the money…
